Gods of Pegana is the foundational work of Lord Dunsany. This short story collection presents the complete cosmology of an invented pantheon, from the slumber of the supreme creator Mana-Yood-Sushai, through the creation and maintainence of the realms by the various gods, to the prophesied end times when all things shall cease.
The book is a collection of interconnected poems, hymns, legends, and rhythmic narratives.
Within the world of Tulara, Mana-Yood-Sushai and the gods of Pegana predate nearly all other mythologies, being among the most anciently venerated gods. The events of this book correspond to the creation of reality itself and the earliest annals of human history.
